Elosha’s Scroll
December 17, 2008
This was actually one of the first props we dug out and still one of the favorites of the Propworx crew. Used throughout the show, starting with the final scenes of the miniseries, this prop had an enormous amount of work put into it and looks absolutely spectacular.
The case is custom metal work that holds a fabric scroll that rolls out of the case. It is incredibly detailed and you can imagine the amount of work that went into designing and fabricating something so intricate. The scroll part was also custom made with ancient writings from Kobol printed on it. In this lot we include an original concept sketch of the scroll and laser color copies of several pre-production design sketches of the scroll and the lettering that was created to look like it was from ancient Kobol.
We first see Elosha, the priestess, holding this scroll in the open position at the funeral scene at the end of the miniseries and so it is very memorable. It is then used at the swearing in of Baltar as President at the end of Season Two. It was also used in the season three episode “Torn” where Gaeta is trying to extrapolate from Baltar’s work the location of Earth.
This is truly one of the premier props we have and I highly recommend hard core collectors take a serious look at this!
Costume Design Sketches
December 15, 2008
My first introduction to the world of costume design sketches was in 2007 at the Christie’s Entertainment Memorabilia Auction where Christie’s auctioned off the famous Little Black Dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. It went for around $ 1 million. What was equally impressive was that the concept design sketch for that dress brought $ 100,000.
Fortunately, we were able to acquire all of Glenne Campbell’s costume design sketches for Battlestar Galactica for this auction. There are some wonderful pieces, including costumes for Starbuck, Baltar, his acolytes and the New Caprica Police. There is even a sketch used for the Final Five Cylon robes as seen in Season Three’s “Rapture”. (Of course, there are no hints to who the Final Cylon is! Some of these sketches, notably Baltar’s and the ones for young Helena and Lucy Cain, even have fabric swatches attached. These are all original watercolors and will look amazing framed on someone’s wall.
I think there will be some bargain’s here, especially the Baltar’s Acolyte ones. They aren’t major characters and so won’t draw the big bidders, but still, they are great pieces with tremendous eye appeal. The Starbuck piece and the Baltar piece will draw the highest bids of this group because they are main characters. When you buy a piece like this, it needs to resonate with you, and costume sketches are so cool because they combine the art of costume design, with painting.
Now you may wonder, “where are the costume sketches for the main costumes and uniforms we see?” Unfortunately, those were done by the costume designer for the mini-series, who did not stay on, and so we weren’t able to get her sketches. So you better get one of these as there aren’t many more!
Galactica Binders
December 7, 2008
Even in a technologically advanced society such as that depicted in Battlestar Galactca, one can never escape paperwork. And, of course, there must be a place to put all that paperwork.
Throughout Galactica (and the other battlestars, on the occasions that their interiors have been seen) one will note various color coded binders.
One such set is lot 622 in the auction, which is a compilation of 9 different types of Galactica binders.
Mostly, the silver spine binders will be found in CIC. The red spine binders are typically found in the married quarters, such as Colonel Tigh’s or the Agathon’s. Clear gray and black spines are more rare, and typically dress other sets, and the yellow spine binders are found in CIC or the Hangar Bay (depending, of course, on how they’re stickered). The FTL binder is also rare and meant for looking up the processes and minutae of the ship’s FTL system.

A blue FTL and a yellow CIC binder near the FTL console, as seen in the Miniseries, before the jump to Rangar Anchorage.
The Munitions binder, which is the red binder with the yellow decals on the spine, is briefly seen in the Miniseries as Tigh looks at the manifest for Ragnar Anchorage. (And, yes, the binder does have the inventory sheets from Ragnar Anchorage in it.)
Gaeta’s “Butterfingers” Pen
November 21, 2008
In Season 3’s “Taking a Break From All Your Worries“—after Gaius Frakking Baltar unceremoniously returns from the algae planet in a body bag—he is given a welcome home celebration of interrogation, drugs, threats of being airlocked… and stabbed with a pen by his previous aide de camp, Felix Gatea.
Fortunately for the viewing audience, one of the greatest characters in history is not taken out by a whimpy pen, as Admiral William Adama punches Gaeta, thereby allowing Cottle to prevent any further damage. Still, once Baltar is safe, he manages a comical dig into Gaeta during Baltar’s trial in “Crossroads, Part II” when bringing up the fact that Gaeta tried to kill him with a pen: “And you missed, butterfingers!”
These metal pens measure 7 1/2″ in length, with the pen tip portion of the item capable of retracting into the hollowed out tube. The pen cap, attached at the end here, cannot be removed.
Colonial Rocket Launcher
November 17, 2008
The Colonial rocket launcher, also known as the rocket-propelled grenade launcher, is seen only once during the show’s run. It is seen during Season 3’s “Exodus, Part I” when a Colonial Marine fires it into two Centurions who ambush a meeting between Colonial Military personnel and the New Caprica Resistance at Breeders Canyon.
This piece will be available for the first auction and is actually a modified PVC pipe toy rocket launcher facsimile with hinged handle/trigger with trigger guard. The piece includes non-functioning sight. Unextended length 27″ long x 10″ x 6″. Extended length 38 3/4″.
Pegasus CIC Console
November 13, 2008
As part of the first auction, we will be selling off one of the venerable consoles from Pegasus’s CIC. This console is one of the one-manned standing stations in front of the tactical plots, and consoles of its kind have been manned by Colonel Jack Fisk in “Razor“, Mei “Freaker” Firelli in “Pegasus” and “Resurrection Ship“, and even by Lieutenant Hoshi in Season 2’s “The Captain’s Hand“.
Later, this console makes a fleeting appearance in Valkyrie’s CIC in Season 3’s “Hero” during the flashback sequences when Commander William Adama (wearing Admiral’s pins, nonetheless!) is on his secret mission to the Armistice Line a year before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.
In fact, since the appearance was so fleeting, you can see an exclusive never-before-seen photo of Valkyrie’s CIC.
The console consists of four pieces: a wireless multimedia keyboard, an LCD screen, a non-functioning dummy telephone, and a gimmicky speaker panel made from a severely economical phone answering machine. The console includes the VGA and power cable for the monitor, but not the wireless receiver for the keyboard.
Here’s a peek at some of the low-res digitized sketches and construction plans for this console. Note that these sketches will not be included in the first auction.

New Caprica Police Academy graduation certificate
October 8, 2008
In the ending scenes of the third season opener, “Occupation“, Tucker “Duck” Clellan and James “Jammer” Lyman are about to become full-fledged members of the New Caprica Police force set up by the Cylon Occupation Authority. As they are handed their diplomas at the graduation ceremony, Clellan detonates his suicide bomb. In the following scenes, half-burnt and distressed diplomas can be seen floating around landing on the dead bodies at the ceremony, thus ending the episode.
As usual, we are the first to show you what those diplomas look like in crystal-clear detail.
Cally’s deckhand helmet
September 26, 2008
Deckhands on Galactica, and any other battlestar worth its weight in salt, will typically wear helmets with their deckhand outfits. Each jumpsuit has its own accompanying helmet. These helmets come with goggles (which are Oakleys), earmuffs (which are actually JVC headsets, obviously modifed aesthetically), and the panelling/sections.
We’ll focus on Cally, since she’s dead. As seen in the picture below, she’s wearing a helmet (along with Prosna and Chief Tyrol) when repairing Starbuck’s Viper.
Munitions Key
September 20, 2008
In the Miniseries, a scene that is later deleted has Commander Adama destroying Galactica’s munitions as part of the decommissioning ceremony. When shot, Adama uses the munitions key in the Weapons Room (off the CIC) to remotely detonate the munitions.
However, it would not be until Season 3’s “The Eye of Jupiter” until this prop sees the light of day, as Adama opens the munitions key storage box and removes the key before arming the nuclear weapons, themselves aimed at the algae planet.
Here are the contents that are inside that box. Note that while the munitions key and the FTL key look similar, the FTL key is one piece without any glowing lights. And no, when you go to bid on the prop, just remember that it won’t arm any nukes. Sorry.
Prescription Pads
September 18, 2008
In the Season 3 episode, “The Woman King“, Doctor Michael Robert is introduced a civilian doctor who—as it turns out later—murders Sagittarons due to his hatred of them. As a then-practicing doctor in Dogsville, he has access to the medicine dispensary, and as such can write out prescriptions. Pictured below is a never-before-seen prescription pad carried by Doctor Robert.
