Pegasus Hangar Bay Signage
November 29, 2008
For the first time in Battlestar Galactica, we get to see the inside of Pegasus’s hangar bay—which looks conspicuously similar to Galactica‘s own hangar bay—in “Razor“. (Obviously, that’s because it is the same set, just redressed differently and a lot cleaner.)
A few simple changes were made to that set to make it seem like it could be Pegasus’s hangar deck. One of those changes come in the form of the signage on the walls.

A shot of the Pegasus hangar bay (a redressed verison of Galactica's own hangar bay) with black signage and the black and chrome wall phone units, amongst other aesthetic changes.
These signs are made of plastic and measures 20″ x 10″, and two lots of three signs each will be featured in the first auction. Here are some closeup shots of the various wall signs used for “Razor”.
Pegasus CIC Console
November 13, 2008
As part of the first auction, we will be selling off one of the venerable consoles from Pegasus’s CIC. This console is one of the one-manned standing stations in front of the tactical plots, and consoles of its kind have been manned by Colonel Jack Fisk in “Razor“, Mei “Freaker” Firelli in “Pegasus” and “Resurrection Ship“, and even by Lieutenant Hoshi in Season 2’s “The Captain’s Hand“.
Later, this console makes a fleeting appearance in Valkyrie’s CIC in Season 3’s “Hero” during the flashback sequences when Commander William Adama (wearing Admiral’s pins, nonetheless!) is on his secret mission to the Armistice Line a year before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.
In fact, since the appearance was so fleeting, you can see an exclusive never-before-seen photo of Valkyrie’s CIC.
The console consists of four pieces: a wireless multimedia keyboard, an LCD screen, a non-functioning dummy telephone, and a gimmicky speaker panel made from a severely economical phone answering machine. The console includes the VGA and power cable for the monitor, but not the wireless receiver for the keyboard.
Here’s a peek at some of the low-res digitized sketches and construction plans for this console. Note that these sketches will not be included in the first auction.

Blue Duty Uniform from “Razor Flashbacks”
August 24, 2008
During the “Razor Flashbacks” depicting the events of the Cylon War over 40 years before, you will see—for brief instances in the background—of uniformed crew members who are wearing blue uniforms that look quite similar to something you’d see from the 1978 Battlestar Galactica. Of course, despite the fact that “Razor” is on DVD, there have not been very good shots of this BDU.
Until now.
This BDU is basically a sleeveless shirt thrown over your regular uniform jacket. The silver stripe design around the neck and cuffs, as well as the general look of the vest are nods to Jean-Pierre Dorléac’s design for the blue command uniforms from the 1978 series. The 1978 blue uniforms were worn by characters like Commander Adama (Lorne Greene) and Colonel Tigh (Terry Carter).

Wireless walkie-talkie
August 23, 2008
As part of William Adama’s gear, which is stowed away in a bag, he has a wireless walkie-talkie that he uses to communicate to Galactica after the Guardian baseship leaves the planet.
The walkie-talkie has seen uses well before “Razor“, and is used when portable communication is needed. One of the earliest appearances of this device is in Season 1’s “You Can’t Go Home Again“, when Kara Thrace is forced down on a planet after tangling with eight Cylon Raiders in the previous episode, only to find it smashed upon landing. Later, in Season 2’s “Valley of Darkness“, Lieutenant Gaeta attempts to warn the other ships that they’ve been boarded by Cylons using a similar walkie-talkie. Further, Thrace (her again!) uses this walkie-talkie on Cloud Nine, when terrorists hold Lee Adama, Anastasia Dualla, Billy Keikeya and Ellen Tigh hostage in the episode “Sacrifice“. There are a few other instances of this prop showing up throughout the series, but you’ll have to hunt for those…

Pilot suit parachute
August 22, 2008
In keeping with the whole Young Adama from “Razor” motif, we’re featuring the parachute that Adama uses when he ejects from his Viper during Operation Raptor Talon. Of course, the actual prop isn’t a full-fleged parachute, but it’s pretty cool.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more cool “Young Adama” stuff… some of it you may have seen used in the series before! Same Battlestar time, same Battlestar wireless channel.
William Adama’s Cylon War Viper helmet
August 21, 2008
If you’re a long time reader of the site, you will have likely seen a sneak peek of this helmet already. However, given the popularity of interest in this costume, we’ve decided to dedicate the rest of the week to showing you items from this costume.
So today’s entry will focus on the helmet. As you’d note, it’s the same as the Viper helmets you’ve seen in the first two seasons of the new show (before they changed them around a bit), but with markings that are a nod to the Original Series helmet.
For reference, here’s the helmet used in the old Battlestar Galactica, worn here by Zac.

And here’s the helmet with the markings that are a nod to the old series, which young William Adama and other Galactica pilots wore during the Cylon War.
Cylon War-era Flight Suit
August 20, 2008
As seen in “Razor“, the First Cylon War-era flight suit is the predecessor to the flight suits in use during the “present” events of the show. Taking visual cues from the Original Series uniforms, namely with the necklines and segmented pattern, this suit has noteworthy visual differences between its “successor”.
Alec was able to snap a few shots of this flight suit today. Here are those photos.
