Production Art
January 16, 2009
For those of you who want to find something inexpensive in the live auction, you need look no further than the 90 or so lots production art. We realize that many of the people can’t afford to walk away with an Arrow of Apollo, or the Iconic Six Red Dress, or even a Raptor, so the economical choice from this auction is going to be—in our own opinion, of course—the production art. A majority of lots consist of multiple pages of production art, such as the obsolete set drawings over four seasons, or the Colonial pistols.

A piece of Lot 8 depicting the suicide bombing at the New Caprica Police Academy in Season 3's "Occupation."

This is a piece of the Cylon Missile Concepts set from Lot 44.
Many of these are beautiful pieces in their own right, with intricate detailing by production artists such as Ken Rabehl (the artist who did the very sought after “Cylon War” painting in Adama’s Quarters) and original pieces that will likely never be seen again. Or wouldn’t have been seen at all, were there not an auction!
One good suggestion we have is that a group of friends can pool their money to buy a lot, and share the sketches between themselves (or divide them up accordingly.) Then they can have someone who is the designated bidder who will bid on the lot.
If you’re not going to be at the auction, and can’t see the actual art in person in Pasadena, we have made it extremely easy for you to peruse our selection of production art. Simply go to Auction Network’s website, sign up (you’ll need a valid credit card) and get together with your friends (or BSG loving family) and see what you can do to snag a piece of Battlestar history.

January 4, 2009
We keep getting questions about bidding live or online, so here is a brief explanation. More information is available in our FAQ.

Want to attend the auction live? No problem, just show up! There is no charge and anyone can attend, and also don’t forget Preview Day, Friday the 16th, which will have panel interviews with the production department heads and viewing of every lot! You can register online (at www.auctionnetwork.com) or register at the auction.
Want to bid online instead? You can bid in the Live Auction from anywhere in the world, all you need is Internet access. Oh, and don’t forget the eBay Auctions too! After the Live Auction, we will have 200 auctions, mostly less expensive items, available on eBay for those who missed out on winning in the Live Auction (and anyone else for that matter). Elosha’s Scroll
December 17, 2008
This was actually one of the first props we dug out and still one of the favorites of the Propworx crew. Used throughout the show, starting with the final scenes of the miniseries, this prop had an enormous amount of work put into it and looks absolutely spectacular.
The case is custom metal work that holds a fabric scroll that rolls out of the case. It is incredibly detailed and you can imagine the amount of work that went into designing and fabricating something so intricate. The scroll part was also custom made with ancient writings from Kobol printed on it. In this lot we include an original concept sketch of the scroll and laser color copies of several pre-production design sketches of the scroll and the lettering that was created to look like it was from ancient Kobol.
We first see Elosha, the priestess, holding this scroll in the open position at the funeral scene at the end of the miniseries and so it is very memorable. It is then used at the swearing in of Baltar as President at the end of Season Two. It was also used in the season three episode “Torn” where Gaeta is trying to extrapolate from Baltar’s work the location of Earth.
This is truly one of the premier props we have and I highly recommend hard core collectors take a serious look at this!
