Kara’s Viper Canopy from Auction II

April 13, 2009 · Print This Article

In the upcoming Second Live Auction we have select pieces from Kara’s “Pristine” Mark II Viper up for bid. One of them being the uber detailed canopy from Kara’s Viper when she returns from the dead. If you have seen the canopy in pictures by now, you may be thinking to yourself; “Why doesn’t the cool canopy for Kara’s Viper come with glass?” Well the simple explanation is that is never had glass in it. The piece was made to cover the frame of the existing canopy from the “Hero” Mark II Viper. Clever, eh.

The canopy is made from thin gauge aluminum flack stock and is expertly seam welded together. Some of the features that make it unique is that it is covered by round head washer self tapping screws. Only the heads of the screws were used to add realistic detail to the canopy. Well, that’s not entirely true. Each corner of the frame has a hole for a self tapping screw to attach the “pristine” canopy to the frame of the existing canopy. The frame also features quarter inch isolation foam on the back side so as not to mar or scratch underlying canopy. So, for one of you who may be bidding on the “Hero” Mark II Viper full size mock-up, you may want to also consider the pristine canopy to flush out your Viper.

Good hunting,

Steven
