Stream of Sconce-iousness
January 20, 2010
The third “33 Auction” is finally underway! Have you been watching daily? Have you seen what I have seen? Deals! Wow, so many shockingly affordable items–some of which may be the thing you have always dreamed of owning, but never thought you could afford it. This week is definitely yours for the taking.
What was that? Did I just hear someone say, “Tell me more”? Okay, since you twisted my arm, and because I have such fond feelings for all you co-BSG fans, I am going to drop you hints in the next couple weeks of great items that I know you will be thrilled to get for such a steal. Trust me on this. I have seen these items with my own eyes. And my eyes know what they are talking about…
So remember how you always said you wanted to transform your house into the Galactica? And remember how your husband always said “no way”? (see how I did that? I turned the tables on stereotype. Just like that!) Well here’s your chance to finally do sum subtle redecorating without bringing home the whole CIC. Wall Sconces! Line your hallway with lots, or even one of them. Suddenly you have yourself a Battlestar-esque corridor, AND new lighting fixtures. Everyone is happy. Take a look at these working wall sconces seen throughout all seasons of the show:
These Sconces are wall lights from Galactica’s Combat Information Center. Lights like these were mounted on the walls. Used throughout all seasons of the Battlestar Galactica series. Gray incandescent lights with frosed glass. Each measures 8.5″ x 5″ x 4.25″ and are fully functional. The sconces with the crossbars are from the Galactica cooridors and the others are from the CIC.

Grays Matter

So close, people. So close! The next 33 auction begins this Sunday. Not like that should be a surprise to anyone out there–I know you’ve got your eye on that timer as it tick, tick, ticks itself right down to the moment of launch. Only two weeks of auctions left! These are your very last chances to own a little piece, or lots of pieces, of your favorite show.
Ok, down to business. I know what you want from me, you want me to give you a sneak peek at something great. Well…how about a Dress Gray Uniform?! What else, you say? How about two more! That’s right, in the coming week of auctions we have three, yes friends, THREE Dress Gray uniforms available. Dress Gray uniforms were worn by colonial officers for formal occasions. While similar to the duty blue uniform, Dress Grays have a more formal look and include a sash with medals and pins to signify the wearer’s accomplishments. And as always, they can be yours. Take a look:
Captain Kelly’s Dress Gray Uniform
Male Dress Gray jacket with BSG patch on the left shoulder. The jacket has several squares of Velcro around the waist area used to affix the waist sash. Paired with gray pants with maroon stripes on side. Jacket has no sizing information available. The pants are size 40. Production has written “Kelly” on the inner label of both items. Includes maroon leather sash and waist belt piece, production made Battlestar Galactica dress pin, Captain rank pins, Standard Pilot Wings, and sash pins.
Armistice Officer’s Dress Gray Uniform
This is the uniform the Armistice officer wears in the beginning scene of the Miniseries. Consists of a men’s Dress Gray jacket with BSG patch on the left shoulder. Production has written “Armistice Officer #1″ on the inner label. Paired with gray pants with maroon stripes on side. Jacket is size 36 – 38. The pants are size 37. Includes maroon leather sash and waist belt piece, production made Battlestar Galactica dress pin, Lieutenant Colonel rank pins, Elite Pilot Wings, and sash pins.
Standard Dress Gray Uniform
Male Dress Gray jacket with BSG patch on the left shoulder. Paired with gray pants with maroon stripes on side. Jacket is size 44. The pants are size 38. Includes maroon leather waist belt piece but does not include shoulder sash. Also features a production made Battlestar Galactica dress pin, and Lieutenant Colonel rank pins.
Let’s Play “Cylon”!
January 5, 2010
Now that the holidays have come and gone, I bet you are thinking you will have nothing to look forward to for quite some time. You are thinking there is nothing ahead but the endless weeks of boring winter. Well, aren’t you forgetting something? That’s right, there’s the light bulb! It’s the “33 Auctions”, and there are still two more to go!! The next one is right around the corner. Keep your eye on the countdown clock. It’ll be here before you know it. And to make your day even more exciting, how about I give you a little peek at one of my personal favorite items that will be available in the upcoming week of auctions.
This item is an oldie but REALLY goodie. Let me take you back for a moment…to good old Caprica (before all the “destruction of humanity” and so forth). When kids would play “Centurion” like it was cops and robbers, with no cares in the world. That’s right, this prop is the Centurion toy mask and gun used in the Miniseries. Featured on one of the children playing in the plaza of unsuspecting Capricans, while Six and her “mystery man” (who we now know is Cavil, thanks to The Plan) meet to set the Cylon attack into action.
Take a look at this fantastic toy and piece of television history. Don’t you think it should be yours?!
