Quick update!

July 21, 2009

Hi everyone, just a quick update on what we are doing here at Propworx.  We are coming around the corner on the final auctions. It looks like we will have quite a few costumes to offer you all, from almost every character, and then some.  We also still have some good props hanging around, like the Pegasus glass from the CIC, or some boxing gloves from Galactica’s fight night.  I wont tell you who’s they are though, muahahha!

The oldies but goodies are still around, patches and pins, though we are coming down to the wire on pins, so get them now!  There are chairs of almost every kind that will go up, as well as a few other cool pieces of set dec you may be wanting.  This is looking to be an epic finale to our beloved show, so I hope you guys are satisfied with the final auctions.  Dont forget, we will also be listing the non-payed auction items as well, so look out for those!

We are all off to Comicon on Thursday, and will return on Monday, though shipping will still be here working, so no worries on getting your props.  We hope to see you at Comicon, and at the BSG panel!

Also, the Bear McCreary concert is this weekend in San Diego, and I hear there will be some awesome giveaways there, so make sure you make it out if you can!

Dont forget, we still have Cylon War Paintings and Auction two patches available in our store, which can be accessed by clicking the link to the right, get yours now!

Have a safe weekend, see you at Comicon!

There are several pieces of jewelry up for auction this week, including earings, bracelets, and necklaces.  Here are a few photo’s to salavate over.

New Caprica: BSG Comes of Age

July 11, 2009

One reason I think Battlestar Galactica will stand the test of time as a television classic is Ron Moore and his writers weren’t afraid to shake up the status quo with plot twists that were truly “game changers.” The first such move was the One Year Later sequence at the end of the Second Season finale “Lay Down Your Burdens.”

Naysayers thought it was a trick or an alternate reality or a dream sequence. In fact, it was an example of the large brass cajones of BSG’s writing staff. Some changes to our cast of characters were drastic—Mrs. Kara Anders (or should that be Mr. Samuel T. Thrace? Hmm…), “Fat Lee” Adama, President Gaius Baltar, Cally Henderson-Tyrol, Lt. Anastasia Adama. Others were more subtle—a mustached Bill Adama, schoolmarm Laura Roslin, and a one-eyed Saul Tigh.

The brilliance of the New Caprica story arc, however, is it placed our heroes in the position where some become suicide bombers under Baltar’s Vichy government. This salient commentary on real-world issues did not go unnoticed. “Occupation” / “Precipice” received Emmy and Writers Guild nominations for writing; “Exodus, Part II” was nominated for directing and sound editing Emmys and won the Emmy Award for outstanding special visual effects in a series.

One of the signature VFX shots on New Caprica was based on David MacLean’s concept art for the grounded ragtag fleet. This oversized pencil sketch (11” x 34”) is a stunning piece of work and will soon be available on eBay

“So say we all.”

Rockets Away!

July 9, 2009

Ok, one of my favourite episodes of Battlestar is Season Two’s “Valley of Darkness.” I think this episode is brilliant because its very dark, visually and story wise.  The Galactica is under sige by the Cylon’s, and they’ve discovered their enemy has gotten alot tougher to kill since the first Cylon war.  Regular bullets bounce off these guys like nerf balls.  The only thing that will put them down is an explosive round… hurray! We have two left!!

So here we have a green military amunition box with two explosive rounds (there not real, not real ebay!  Dont de-list us!!!) that are ready to blow a Cylon centurion to bits. Lee found a box like this in the weapons locker with only a few rounds left, and passed them out between himself, Kat, and the rest of the armed group.  (Sorry flyboy, you got frakked up) Together they stopped the Cylons from reaching the ships critical systems—and venting all the atmosphere.

You can pick up this awesome piece in next weeks auction!

Tonights the Night!

July 7, 2009

Yup, never fear, the auctions will go up starting tonight at 10pm eastern standard time. Lots of goodies for you all, and really really not much left, so get bidding! Also, dont forget to check the store for lots of buy it now goodness, we have alot of cool stuff up there, dont miss out!  The Cylon War painting and Auction Two patches are still able to be ordered as well, but are running out quickly.  Time is of the essence people!

So the fun item of the week is a set of Cylon handcuffs, the locking kind!  So if you havent figured me out yet, I had to try this (after locking damian in them and making him first lol) and getting out of these cuffs is tough!  Especially if someone (damian) locks yours really tight and you cant move at all!

These cuffs are from “Home part 2″ and were marked as backups, so its unknown if they were used on screen.  They are very heavily weathered and come with a key (dont loose it!!) so you can do what you will with them, and still get out after!  Cool yes?  We thought so, we even had Kellie from shipping give it a go!

Hope you all had a great fun filled fourth of July, we all sure did! We are back in our offices and shipping is rolling on the orders so if you havent paid, you need to get on that quick! If you have any questions related to shipping, combining shipping, how to pack things awesome, please contact curtis at support@propworx.com.   Until next time!  Erin

Wanna Build Your Own Viper Cockpit?

July 1, 2009

Seriously. You know you want to.

Well, you’re in luck because next week, we’re going to auction art for Viper Mk VII cockpit concept and full-size cockpit panels. (Can I get a “So say we all”?) An enterprising fan could snap these puppies up and start construction ASAP.

It’s no secret the art department tweaked aspects of Battlestar Galactica’s design as the seasons progressed. For example, you’ve probably noticed differences between the Miniseries helmets and the 2.5 versions, as well as the clamshell blasters and FN-5.7 pistols.

You may not have noticed, however, the interior Viper Mk VII cockpit was redesigned starting with the Second Season episode “Scar.”

And the artwork for these cockpit panels are GI-NORMOUS!!! The largest pair are 2 feet by 6.8 feet apiece.

Translation: make sure there’s enough room in your garage ‘cause you’re gonna need it.

“So say we all!”
