Live Auction # 2, May 8-10th at the Pasadena Convention Center

February 20, 2009

The second Battlestar Galactica Live Auction will be held May 8-10th at the Pasadena Convention Center.  The second and last of the two live auctions will be bigger and better than the last.  This time the event will be held in the new Convention Hall “B”, a state of the art convention facility with even more room than before.  Preview Day will be Thursday, May 7th from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Highlights of the auction will be:

1) 975 lots of props, costumes & set pieces.  Last auction had 800 lots, so we have more Galactica goodies for you to bid on.   325 lots a day will be auctioned off, which is 75 less than we auctioned off each day in the first auction.  So while we have a lot more items, we will have a slower, more leisurely pace.

2) The Hero Viper Mk II and the Blackbird will both be up for auction and on display!  Come and get your picture taken next to these Galactica legends!

3) Wayne Rose, Battlestar Galactica Director and Production Manager, who is the “Unknown Soldier” in the famous Galactica photo, will be at the auction, signing copies of this piece of the Galactica legend.

4) Preview Day will once again have special guests who will be annouced shortly!

Stay tuned for more info on the auction!

Shipping Updates

February 18, 2009

Live auction shipping is almost done.  Except for large items (set pieces), everything will be boxed and ready for shipment this week.  In fact, most every small item will be boxed and ready to go by Wednesday afternoon.  Please note that some of you are delaying your shipments by not replying to our PayPal Money Requests in a timely manner.  Please call Barbara if you have a question and look out for a PayPal Money request!

eBay auction item shipping will speed up once we have all the Live Auction shipping done.  RIght now my staff is coming back to the warehouse after dinner to ship eBay items.  Once the Live Auction items are all shopped, we will have 4 people working on shipping eBay items full time!  So we should have everything shipped pretty quickly.  We can probably ship 100 eBay items a day, so expect that all to go quickly.  We appreciate yoru patience.

As always, if you have a question, call or email us!

Auction Updates

February 13, 2009

Live Auction Shipping You should have received an email from me on the latest on shipping of the Live Auction Items.  if you didn’t then we don’t have a correct email for you and please send it to me at alec@propworx.com.  We will be done with shipping Live Auction items by the end of the month!

eBay Shipping We are a bit behind on this still, but the shipping crew has been staying till 11:00 every night this week to ship out eBay packages!  They basically work all day on Live Auction Shipping, go eat dinner, and come back to ship out eBay items.  So just bear with us for the next two weeks, after which we will be done with shipping Live Auction winnings and will be screaming through eBay items then!

The Second Live Auction Is scheduled for May 8-10 at the Pasadena Convention Center.    We are currently looking at 900 items, with 300 per day.  This catalog will be just as cool as the last!  And we are hoping to have Production Manager and Assistant Director Wayne Rose, the “Unknown Soldier” in the photo, signing autographs!  And of course we will invite back fan favorite Michael Hogan!

eBay Shipping Update

February 9, 2009

Hey all.  As we focus on getting out the Live Auction items, there will be a delay in getting out the eBay items.  So please be patient and bear with us!  We are even hiring more staff for our shipping department to help with the load.  The Live Auctions are really just taking a lot of time, because the invoice process is pretty manual.  If we were just doing eBay auctions, because of our Marketplaceadvisor system (which I am happy to say I created…it was my first technology company) we could ship 50-70 items a day.  We will get back to that level in about two weeks.  For now we are going to start shipping out eBay items after we get back from dinner each night.  So we will ship Live Auction items during the day, and eBay items at night.  Of course we won’t be working TOO late at night, so just be patient!

It seems everyone who has gotten their items so far has been very happy, especially with our COAs.  We pack the items well, and have a great system that Santino and his team keep making better.  We want everyone to have a great experience, so please bear with us!

Chairs, Chairs, Chairs

February 4, 2009

We have been having a bit of a problem with eBay as when we list Colonial One chairs, CIC chairs, Pliot Ready Room chairs, or Pilot Rec Room chairs, all of which need to be shipped via freight, and which we charge exact shipping on, eBay marks them as Free Shipping!  Now we are nice guys, but we can’t go losing money either!  So forgive us for having to cancel a few auctions.  We just don’t want people confused by the shipping.  We should have it figured out and all four chairs listed Friday!

eBay Auction Updates

February 2, 2009

There are currently 142 items up for auction on eBay right now.  This is Week 3 and there are items from Episode 415 in this auction, highlighted in blue on eBay.  this includes Private Jaffe’s bloodied BDU from when he is shot by Gaeta’s marines.  Pyramid cards make their debut this week with cubits and they are pretty sweet and will make a great display!

We are now on a schedule where auctions launch at 7:00pm PST, 10:00 PST EST every Friday night.  This corresponds with the airing of BSG on SciFi Channel!

Please note that we are still tweaking the shipping costs.  Chairs and large items need to be sent freight, so we are not listing shipping charges for them as we don’t know what those charges will be until we know where it is being shipped.   Note that we charge exact shipping and packing on all these items.  Smaller items are being charged $ 10 domestic at the moment, and again, we are trying just to cover our actually shipping there.  This may be adjusted as we find out what shipping costs are turning out to be for various items.

As always, contact us if you have questions.
